After Reading Strategies

Here is a list of after reading strategies:

  1. Go back and reread parts of the story that you did not understand.
  2. After reading, retell the main point of the whole story to ensure understanding.
  3. Think about how the story fits with what you already know.
  4. Think about something you learned or reviewed.
  5. Think about whether your predictions were correct.
